Apology from Superintendent David Garbutt

On behalf of Pembina Hills Public Schools and the Alberta Distance Learning Centre (ADLC), I extend a sincere apology for the inappropriate and offensive content in one of our print courses. As a division, we accept full responsibility, and are committed to ensuring this does not happen again. The content in the document absolutely does not reflect the values of our school division. We regret the negative impact this may have caused and are committed to the principles of Truth and Reconciliation.
We will contact all partner school authorities and all school jurisdictions in Alberta to ensure this material is removed from shelves and destroyed. We will also conduct an immediate review of all ADLC course content to ensure that resources are respectful and appropriate.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact me at 780.674.8507 or [email protected]
